Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Ukraine. No minimum validity beyond that is required by law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Border officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight reservation ready. This applies at all land and air borders.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration may ask where you are staying. Have a hotel confirmation, rental agreement, or a letter from a host ready. A printed copy speeds things up.Recommended
Proof of funds

Officers can ask for proof of sufficient funds. Carry a bank statement or credit card showing at least $50 USD per day of your stay. Cash is also accepted.Recommended
eVisa required — no exceptions
Mongolian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival or at the border. You must apply and receive approval before you travel. Last-minute trips are risky.
Keep digital copies handy
Save your eVisa, passport scan, and travel documents in a cloud folder (Google Drive, iCloud) in case your phone is lost or stolen.

What happens at the border

Frequently asked questions

Processing typically takes 3–7 business days. Apply at least two weeks before your trip to be safe. The fee is around $20–$35 USD depending on your nationality.
No, the eVisa does not allow extensions. You must leave before your visa expires. Overstaying can result in fines and future entry bans.
The same rules apply. You must have an approved eVisa before you arrive. Land border crossings (e.g., from Poland or Romania) have passport control booths where you'll show your passport and visa.
If you're transiting by air and don't leave the international transit zone, you don't need a visa. But if you plan to leave the airport or cross a land border, you need the eVisa.
You'll receive a rejection email with a reason (e.g., incomplete documents, criminal record). You can reapply with corrected information, but the fee is non-refundable. Consider applying through the nearest Ukrainian embassy if you're unsure.
Yes, showing the eVisa approval on your phone is accepted at most ports of entry. But printing a copy as backup is safer — phone batteries die and screens can crack.
No. Ukraine does not offer visa on arrival for Mongolian citizens. You must have the eVisa approved before you travel.
