Ukraine entry requirements for Mongolia passport holders
Mongolian passport holders need a visa to enter Ukraine. You'll need to apply at a Ukrainian embassy or consulate before you travel — there's no online visa option for your nationality. Plan ahead, because the process involves paperwork and a few weeks of waiting.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Ukraine visa (type C short-term)You must get this visa before you fly – you cannot get it on arrival. Apply at an embassy or consulate | Mongolian citizens must obtain a short-term type C visa before travel. Valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Apply at the nearest Ukrainian embassy or consulate; no eVisa is available for Mongolian passport holders. | Required |
| Passport validityIf your passport expires sooner, renew it before you apply. At least 6 months beyond your intended stay | Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Ukraine. Check the expiry date well before applying for your visa. | Required |
| Blank passport pagesThe visa and border officers need a clean page to stamp. At least 1 blank page | Your passport must have at least 1 blank page for the visa and entry stamps. Ensure no pages are damaged. | Required |
| Return or onward ticketYou need to show you plan to leave before your visa expires. Proof of departure | Have a confirmed return or onward ticket showing you will leave Ukraine within the 90-day visa period. Border officials may ask to see it. | Required |
| Proof of fundsIt's not always asked, but having proof avoids problems at the border. Sufficient money for your stay | Be ready to show evidence of sufficient funds for your stay in Ukraine (e.g., bank statements, cash, credit cards). The amount is not fixed but should cover accommodation and living costs. | Recommended |
| Travel insuranceMedical care can be expensive – insurance protects you. Medical coverage for Ukraine | Although not a visa requirement for all applicants, travel insurance covering medical expenses is strongly recommended. Check with the embassy if your visa application requires it. | Recommended |
| Arrival declarationYou don't need to declare anything special when you land. Not required | Ukraine does not require an arrival declaration for Mongolian citizens. No form to fill on arrival. | Not required |
| eVisa applicationDon't try to apply online – it won't work for your passport. Not available for Mongolian citizens | Mongolian passport holders are not eligible for Ukraine's eVisa system. You must apply through a Ukrainian embassy or consulate in person or by mail. | Not required |
