Security warning

Apply for the e-visa online
Go to the official Afghan e-visa portal (evisa.mfa.af), create an account, and fill out the application form. Upload your passport photo and supporting documents. Pay the fee online. Processing typically takes 3–5 business days, but apply at least 2 weeks before your trip to be safe.

Receive your e-visa by email
Once approved, you will get a PDF e-visa by email. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. Check that your name, passport number, and dates are correct — any error means you will need to reapply.

Check in for your flight
At the airline check-in counter, show your passport and the e-visa (printed or digital). The airline will verify your visa before issuing a boarding pass. If you do not have it, you will not be allowed to fly.

Arrive at Kabul International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Visa' or 'Immigration'. Present your passport and e-visa to the immigration officer. They may ask about your purpose of visit and where you are staying. Your passport will be stamped with your entry date.

Keep your e-visa with you during your stay
Carry a copy of your e-visa and passport at all times. Afghan police may ask for identification, and your hotel will need to register you with local authorities.
