Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for an Azerbaijan eVisa at evisa.gov.az at least 3 working days before departure. The eVisa is a single-entry visa valid for 30 days. Print the approval email and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Azerbaijan. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by law, but airlines may enforce 6 months — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host in Azerbaijan. Officers may ask for it at passport control, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a recent bank statement or enough cash (around $50 per day) to cover your stay. Officers rarely ask, but it helps if you look underprepared.Recommended
eVisa is the only option
There is no visa on arrival for Mexican passport holders. You must apply and receive approval before you travel. The official site is evisa.gov.az — avoid third-party sites that charge extra fees.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the day you arrive in Azerbaijan, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.
