Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Bangladesh eVisa at the official portal at least 7 days before departure. The eVisa is valid for tourism, business, or medical visits — select the correct purpose on the form. Upload a passport photo and scanned passport data page; processing takes 3–5 business days.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have 6 months validity
Your Mexican passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Bangladesh. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or show it on your phone — a dummy booking may not work if they verify the PNR.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or a letter of invitation from your host in Bangladesh can speed up immigration. Officers occasionally ask where you are staying — having a printed address ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry at least $500 USD in cash or a credit card statement showing available funds. Immigration may ask how you will support yourself during your stay — a bank statement or ATM card works.Recommended
Apply early — no visa on arrival
Mexican citizens cannot get a visa on arrival in Bangladesh. You must have an approved e-Visa before you board your flight. Apply at least 2 weeks in advance to avoid last-minute stress.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your e-Visa, passport bio page, and return ticket as PDFs on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose a printout, you can still show them at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your e-Visa online
Go to https://www.evisa.gov.bd/ and fill out the application. Upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but can be longer during peak times.
2
Print your visa approval
Once approved, you'll receive an e-Visa document by email. Print a copy and keep a digital backup on your phone. You'll need to show it at the airport check-in counter and again on arrival.
3
Prepare your documents for departure
At check-in, the airline will ask for your visa and onward ticket. Have your passport, printed e-Visa, and return ticket ready. Without the visa, you won't be allowed to board.
4
Arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) in Dhaka
After landing, follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' immigration counters. Present your passport, printed e-Visa, and return ticket. The officer may ask about your accommodation and purpose of visit. Answer clearly and briefly.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
Once stamped in, head to baggage claim, then customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. Outside arrivals, you'll find prepaid taxi counters and ride-hailing pickup points.
