Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before departure
You need an eVisa to enter Mongolia. Apply at the official Mongolia eVisa portal — processing takes 3–5 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Mexican passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Mongolia. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires before you leave, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Immigration may ask for proof
Mongolian border officers sometimes ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host in Mongolia. Immigration rarely asks, but having it avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a recent bank statement or enough cash (around 500,000 MNT per day) to cover your stay. Officers rarely check, but it's safer to have proof ready.Recommended
eVisa only — no visa on arrival
Mongolia does not offer visa on arrival for Mexican passport holders. You must get the eVisa approved before you fly. Without it, you will be denied boarding.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Mongolia, not from when you leave. Double-check before applying.
