Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Tunisia. Airlines at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) will check this before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Tunisia
Immigration officers at Tunis-Carthage Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it avoids delays at the border.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Have a bank statement or credit card ready. Immigration may ask to see you have enough money for your trip, though this is not common for short stays.Recommended
No arrival declaration needed
You do not need to fill out any arrival declaration form. Just walk up to immigration with your passport and return ticket.
Overstaying is costly
The 90-day visa-free period is strict and not extendable. Overstaying can result in fines of up to 100 TND per day and a possible ban from re-entering Tunisia.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Tunis-Carthage Airport or other entry point
You'll queue at immigration. Have your passport, return ticket (screenshot), and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 2-5 minutes.
2
Proceed to baggage claim and customs
After the stamp, collect your bags. Customs is generally relaxed for tourists. No arrival declaration form is needed.
3
Exit the arrivals hall
Once through customs, you're free to leave. Taxis and car rentals are available outside. Keep your passport handy for hotel check-in.
