Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Bahrain eVisa at the official portal before you fly. Processing takes 3–5 working days, and you'll receive the visa by email — print a copy to show at immigration. Single-entry visas cost around 40 BHD (~$106 USD) and are valid for 30 days from issue.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months
Your Mozambique passport needs at least 6 months of validity beyond your intended departure from Bahrain. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers in Bahrain routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready — they may also check that your onward flight is within the eVisa's validity period.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Bahrain. Immigration may ask for it at the counter, especially if you're staying at a private residence rather than a hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card balance
Have a bank statement or credit card showing you can cover your stay — around 50 BHD (~$133 USD) per day is a safe benchmark. Officers rarely ask, but if they do, you'll need to demonstrate you're not working illegally.Recommended
eVisa required before travel
There is no visa-on-arrival for Mozambican passport holders. You must have the approved eVisa in hand before you board your flight. Airlines check this at check-in.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Bahrain, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it first.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to www.evisa.gov.bh, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around 30–50 BHD depending on visa type) and submit. Processing takes 3–7 working days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
You'll get the approved visa as a PDF by email. Print a paper copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and at immigration in Bahrain.
3
Arrive at Bahrain International Airport (BAH)
After landing, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and join the queue for foreign passport holders. Have your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and hotel booking ready. The officer will stamp you in — usually a quick process.
