Mozambican passport holders need an eVisa to visit the Bahamas in 2026. You must apply and get approval before you travel — there is no visa on arrival. The eVisa covers tourism or business stays, and you'll need to show it along with your other documents at immigration in Nassau.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel

Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Mozambique passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in the Bahamas. Immigration officers at Nassau check this at the desk — no wiggle room if it expires before you leave.Required

Required for entry
You must show a confirmed return or onward ticket when you land. Airlines at Maputo and connecting hubs will check this before boarding — no ticket, no flight.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Have a hotel booking or a letter of invitation ready. Immigration at Lynden Pindling International Airport may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry evidence of sufficient funds — a bank statement or credit card showing you can cover your stay. Officers rarely ask, but it's a quick way to avoid secondary questioning.Recommended
eVisa must be approved before travel
There is no visa on arrival for Mozambican passport holders. Do not book non-refundable flights or hotels until you have your eVisa approval in hand.
Yellow fever vaccination required
If you are arriving from Mozambique (a yellow fever risk country), you must have a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate. Get the shot at least 10 days before travel and carry the certificate with your passport.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Bahamas immigration eVisa website and fill out the application. You'll need to upload a digital passport photo, a copy of your passport bio page, and your flight itinerary. Pay the fee with a credit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but apply at least 2 weeks before your trip to be safe.
2
Receive and save your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa document. Print a copy and also save a PDF on your phone. You'll need it at airline check-in and at immigration in Nassau.
3
Prepare your documents for travel
Before heading to the airport, gather: your passport (6+ months validity), printed eVisa, return ticket, and first night accommodation confirmation. Keep them in your carry-on, not checked luggage.
4
Arrive at Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS)
When you land in Nassau, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and join the queue for foreign passport holders. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer honestly — they're checking you're a genuine visitor. You'll get an entry stamp valid for up to 90 days.
