What happens at the border

1
Apply for your e-visa online
Go to the official Chad e-visa portal (e-visa.td). Fill in your personal details, passport info, and travel dates. Upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your visa approval
Once approved, you'll get an email with a PDF. Print a copy and save a digital version on your phone. You'll need to show this at check-in and on arrival.
3
Arrive at N'Djamena International Airport
After landing, head to the immigration hall. Join the queue for foreign passports. Hand over your passport, printed e-visa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. Keep your boarding pass handy — they sometimes ask for it.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, go to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually no customs declaration for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
