What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Papua New Guinea eVisa portal. Fill in your personal details, passport info, travel dates, and upload a passport-style photo. Pay the fee (around $50–$100 USD depending on processing speed). Submit and wait for the approval email — usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Print your eVisa and pack documents
Once approved, print the eVisa confirmation. Also print or save to your phone: your return ticket, hotel booking, and travel insurance certificate. Keep them together in a folder.
3
Arrive at Port Moresby (Jacksons International Airport)
Most flights from Nigeria connect through Dubai, Singapore, or Brisbane. At Port Moresby, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 2–5 minutes.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. There's a customs check — declare any goods over 250 PGK (about $70 USD) or restricted items. Then you're free to exit.
