Dutch passport holders need an eVisa to enter Cameroon in 2026. Apply online before you travel — there's no visa-on-arrival option. The eVisa covers tourism, business, and transit stays.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Cameroon eVisa
Apply for your Cameroon eVisa at the official portal before departure. The eVisa is mandatory for all travellers — you cannot get a visa on arrival at the airport. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, so apply at least a week before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Cameroon. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward flight ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone. Without one, you risk being refused entry at Yaoundé or Douala airport.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Cameroon. Immigration may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a recent bank statement or enough cash (at least 200,000 XAF or equivalent) to cover your stay. Officers occasionally ask for proof of financial means, particularly for longer visits.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show proof of yellow fever vaccination (yellow card) at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport (and pay a fine).
Currency and cash
Cameroon uses the Central African CFA franc (XAF). Credit cards are accepted in major hotels and restaurants in Yaoundé and Douala, but cash is king everywhere else. ATMs are common in cities but may not always work with foreign cards. Bring euros or US dollars to exchange.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Cameroon eVisa portal (evisacameroon.com). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around €80–€100 depending on processing speed). Submit and wait for approval — typically 3–7 business days.
2
Print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF by email. Print two copies — one to keep with your passport, one as a backup. Immigration at Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport or Douala International Airport will check it before stamping you in.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
At passport control, hand over your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer may ask a few questions (purpose of visit, where you're staying). Answer calmly. You'll get a stamp valid for up to 90 days.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. Green channel if you have nothing to declare, red channel if you're carrying more than €10,000 in cash or restricted goods. Taxis and ride-hailing apps (like Uber) are available outside the terminal.
