Cash is king — bring USD
ATMs at Lao airports are notoriously unreliable. Bring USD 35 in crisp, new bills (no older than 2009). If you pay in Lao Kip or Thai Baht, you'll get a terrible exchange rate. Don't rely on card payments at immigration.

Fill in the application form
Grab a form from the counter. Fill in your details — name, passport number, entry date, etc. Use black or blue pen. Attach one photo.
