What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to the Nigeria Immigration Service portal (portal.immigration.gov.ng). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the visa fee online. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive eVisa approval
You'll get an email with a PDF attachment — your eVisa approval letter. Print two copies: one to carry with your passport, one as backup. Also save a digital copy on your phone.
3
Arrive at a Nigerian airport
Major entry points are Lagos (LOS) and Abuja (ABV). At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. Expect a short queue — 15–30 minutes is typical.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. Have your accommodation address handy in case an officer asks. You're free to go.
