Dutch passport holders need a visa to enter Pakistan in 2026. You must apply online through the official visa portal before you travel — there are no visa-on-arrival options for tourism.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
eVisa available
Apply for a Pakistan eVisa at visa.nadra.gov.pk before travel. Processing takes 7–10 working days for most nationalities. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Islamabad and Karachi will ask to see both.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid on arrival
Your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Pakistan. Airlines at Schiphol will check this before boarding — if your passport expires during your trip, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Islamabad and Karachi routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready — a flight reservation without a ticket number will not be accepted.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Pakistan. Immigration may ask for the address where you will stay — have it written down or on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Have a bank statement from the last 3 months or enough cash (USD or PKR) to cover your stay. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, showing $500–$1,000 equivalent is usually sufficient.Recommended
Visa required — apply well in advance
There is no visa on arrival for Dutch passport holders. Apply at least 2 weeks before your trip to account for processing delays. Without an approved visa, you won't be allowed to board your flight.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your visa approval, passport, and hotel booking as PDFs on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose your printed documents, digital copies can save you at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your visa online
Go to visa.nadra.gov.pk and fill out the tourist visa application. Upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around €30–€50 depending on processing speed). Processing takes 3–7 business days.
2
Receive your visa approval
You'll get an email with a visa approval letter. Print it out — you'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival. The visa is usually valid for 90 days from issue, with a maximum stay of 30 days.
3
Prepare your documents for travel
Pack your printed visa approval, passport, return ticket, and first night hotel booking. Save digital copies on your phone too.
4
Arrive at a Pakistani airport
You'll land at Islamabad (ISB), Karachi (KHI), or Lahore (LHE). Go to the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport, visa approval, and return ticket. The officer may ask your hotel address — have it ready. They'll stamp you in for up to 30 days.
