What happens at the border

1
Arrival at Santiago (SCL) or other airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Migraciones' (Immigration). Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will stamp your passport and may ask your purpose of visit, length of stay, and where you're staying. Answer clearly. The whole process usually takes 5–15 minutes.
2
Present documents
Hand over your passport. If asked, show your return ticket (screenshot on phone is fine) and accommodation booking. No forms to fill unless you're staying longer or have special circumstances.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry and the maximum stay (90 days). Check the stamp before walking away. If the date is wrong, ask for correction immediately.
4
Collect luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. You may be asked to declare goods. Green channel for nothing to declare, red channel if you have items to declare.

Report the loss to the nearest police station and get a police report. Then contact the Norwegian embassy or consulate in Santiago for an emergency passport. You'll need the police report and a passport photo. The emergency passport is valid for travel back to Norway.
