Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the length of your stay in Honduras. Norway passport holders enter visa-free for up to 90 days. Have at least one blank page for the entry stamp.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Honduras
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave Honduras within 90 days. Airlines check this before boarding. A printed or digital copy works.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a hotel reservation or a letter from your host in Honduras ready. Officers may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Carry bank statements, a credit card, or cash to demonstrate you have enough money for your trip. There's no fixed minimum, but around $500 USD for a short visit is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport has less than 6 months validity from your arrival date, you will not be allowed to fly. Renew early.
Keep a digital copy of everything
Save photos of your passport, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose your documents, this makes replacement much easier.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from arrival), book your return or onward ticket, and save a screenshot. Book your first night's accommodation and have the confirmation ready. Consider getting travel insurance and a local eSIM.
2
Arrive at Honduran immigration
At the airport (usually Toncontín in Tegucigalpa or Ramón Villeda Morales in San Pedro Sula), join the 'Foreigners' queue. Hand over your passport and any requested documents. The officer will stamp you in for up to 90 days.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay duration. Check the stamp before leaving the counter. If it is less than 90 days, ask politely for clarification.
4
Exit immigration and collect luggage
After the stamp, proceed to baggage claim and then customs. Keep your passport handy — you may need to show it again at customs.
