Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Seychelles
Your Norwegian passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Seychelles does not enforce the 6-month validity rule — your passport just needs to be valid for the duration of your stay. Airlines may still check for 6 months, so verify with your carrier before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Seychelles
Immigration officers at Seychelles International Airport always ask for a return or onward ticket before they stamp you in. This can be a flight out to any destination — it does not have to be back to Norway. Budget airlines check this at check-in too.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a printed or digital copy of your hotel reservation, guesthouse booking, or a letter of invitation from your host in Seychelles. Immigration rarely asks for it, but if they do and you cannot show one, they may deny entry.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least $150 USD per day of your stay. Seychelles is expensive — accommodation, food, and island transfers add up fast. Immigration officers rarely check this, but the law allows them to.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Seychelles immigration will deny entry if your passport has less than 6 months validity from your arrival date. Check your passport now, not the night before you fly.
No visa, but don't skip the paperwork
Even though you don't need a visa, you must have a return ticket and accommodation proof ready. Immigration officers ask for these regularly.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ)
You'll land at Pointe Larue on Mahé. Follow signs to 'Immigration' — it's a single hall. There are no separate queues for visa-free travellers; everyone goes through the same line.
2
Present your documents to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport, return ticket (printed or on phone), and accommodation booking. The officer will check your passport validity and stamp you in. This usually takes 2–5 minutes.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim. There's a customs check (green/red channel) but it's usually quick. You're free to go once you clear customs.
