Your Norwegian passport must be valid for at least the entire period you plan to stay in Togo. No specific 6-month rule applies, but airlines may enforce one — check with your carrier.Required

Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Togo. Immigration may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card
Have at least 200,000 CFA francs (about €300) in cash or a credit card with available balance. Immigration rarely checks, but it's a formal requirement for entry.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must have a yellow fever vaccination and carry the International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow card). Immigration officers check it. No card, no entry.
Keep your eVisa accessible
Print a paper copy of your eVisa and also save the PDF on your phone. Some airlines check it at check-in, and you'll need it at immigration in Lomé.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Togolese eVisa portal (evisa.gouv.tg). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around 30,000 XOF, about €45) by credit card. You'll receive a confirmation email with a reference number.
2
Wait for approval
Processing usually takes 2–5 business days. You'll get an email with the approved eVisa attached as a PDF. Print a copy and save it on your phone.
3
Arrive at Lomé Airport
At Lomé–Tokoin International Airport, head to the immigration counter. Present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp your passport and let you through. The whole process takes about 10–15 minutes if you have all documents ready.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. There's a customs check on the way out — declare any goods over 500,000 XOF (about €760) or restricted items. Then you're free to go.
