Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Norwegian passport only needs to be valid for the time you plan to stay in Kosovo. Airlines at Gardermoen may ask for 6 months validity — check with your carrier before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kosovo
Border officers at Pristina International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they check this before stamping you in.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and phone number is enough.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers rarely ask, but carry a bank statement or credit card showing you have at least €50 per day of your stay. ATMs are widely available in Pristina.Recommended
Entry from Serbia
If you enter Kosovo from Serbia, you may face complications when later trying to enter Serbia, as Serbia does not recognize Kosovo's independence. Check current travel advisories before planning a combined trip.
Visa-free for 90 days
Norwegian passport holders enjoy visa-free access to Kosovo for up to 90 days. No visa application or fee is required.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, gather your passport (valid 6+ months), return/onward ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Save screenshots or PDFs on your phone for quick access.
2
Arrive at Pristina International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' (usually on the ground floor). There are separate queues for EU/EEA and other nationals — as a Norwegian, use the EU/EEA lane if available.
3
Present your passport to the officer
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask your purpose of visit, length of stay, and where you're staying. Answer clearly. They rarely ask for supporting documents, but have them ready.
4
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date. Check the stamp is legible before walking away. You're allowed up to 90 days.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There are no additional forms or fees for Norwegian citizens.
