Nepali passport holders need a visa to enter Armenia in 2026. The easiest way is to apply for an e-visa online before you travel. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your date of entry.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for an Armenian eVisa at evisa.mfa.am at least 3 working days before departure. The eVisa costs $12 USD for a single-entry 21-day stay or $40 USD for a 120-day multiple-entry visa. Print the approval email and carry it with your passport — immigration at Zvartnots Airport will scan the barcode.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your Nepalese passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Armenia. Airlines at Kathmandu check this strictly — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Border officers at Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready. Budget airlines like Wizz Air may also check this at check-in.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Immigration may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a hotel booking. Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from a host in Armenia. Airbnb bookings are accepted.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Officers rarely ask for proof of funds for short stays, but have a bank statement or credit card showing at least $500 USD available. If you are staying with friends or family, a letter of sponsorship can help.Recommended
e-Visa is the way to go
The online e-visa at evisa.mfa.am is the fastest and most reliable method for Nepali travellers. No need to visit an embassy unless you have complex travel plans.
Passport validity is strict
Armenia enforces the 6-month validity rule strictly. If your passport expires sooner, you'll be turned away at the airport. Check your passport now.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-Visa Online
Go to evisa.mfa.am, fill in your details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $40-50 USD) with a credit card. Processing takes 3-5 business days. You'll receive the visa by email as a PDF.
2
Prepare Your Documents
Print or save to your phone: the e-visa PDF, your passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket, and first-night accommodation confirmation. Keep them together in a folder or a clear plastic sleeve.
3
Arrive at Zvartnots Airport (EVN)
After landing in Yerevan, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport and e-visa ready. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and where you're staying. Answer briefly and honestly.
4
Collect Your Luggage and Exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim. Then proceed through customs (green channel if nothing to declare). You're free to enter Armenia.

No, visa on arrival is not available for Nepali passport holders. You must have an e-visa or a visa from an Armenian embassy before you travel.
You will be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry at immigration. Renew your passport before applying for the visa.
