Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Bahamas eVisa at the Bahamas Immigration Department portal. Processing takes a few business days — do not book non-refundable flights until approved. The eVisa is single-entry and covers tourism.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Nepalese passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in the Bahamas. Airlines at Kathmandu check this before boarding — if your passport expires before you leave, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Nassau ask for a confirmed onward ticket — a flight out of the Bahamas to another country. A bus or ferry ticket to the US works if you have a US visa. Without one, you risk being refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel or host booking
Have a hotel reservation or host invitation ready. Immigration may ask where you are staying — a booking confirmation with your name and dates is enough.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry bank statements or a credit card showing you have enough money for your stay. Bahamas is not cheap — $100–$150 USD per day is a realistic budget. Immigration rarely asks, but it is better to have it.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no visa on arrival
Nepali citizens cannot get a visa at the airport in Nassau. You must have an approved eVisa before you board your flight. Airlines check this at check-in.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in the Bahamas, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Bahamas immigration eVisa website and fill out the application. Upload a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get the eVisa by email. Print a copy and also save a PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and at immigration in Nassau.
3
Prepare your documents for travel
Before you leave, gather: your passport (valid 6+ months), printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. Keep them in your carry-on.
4
Arrive at Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS)
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration'. Join the queue for foreign visitors. Have your passport, eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation proof ready. The officer will stamp your passport and let you through.
