Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Gabon eVisa at evisa.gouv.ga at least 72 hours before departure. The eVisa is valid for single entry and covers stays up to 30 days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Libreville International Airport will stamp you in.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have 6 months validity
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Gabon. Airlines at Kathmandu check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Libreville routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready. Without one, you risk being refused entry and sent back on the next flight.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or an invitation letter from a host in Gabon can smooth your arrival. Officers may ask where you are staying — having a printed reservation avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — around 150,000 XAF (approx. $250 USD) per week is a safe benchmark. A bank statement or credit card showing available balance works.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccination is mandatory
Gabon requires a yellow fever certificate for all travellers over 1 year. You'll be asked for it at immigration. Get the vaccine at least 10 days before you fly.
eVisa must be approved before travel
There is no visa-on-arrival for Nepali passport holders. Apply online at evisa.gouv.ga at least a week before your trip. Processing takes 2–5 business days.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.gouv.ga, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (typically around €70–€100 depending on processing time). You'll receive a confirmation email within a few days.
2
Print or save your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll get a PDF by email. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll show this at immigration in Libreville.
3
Arrive at Libreville International Airport (LBV)
After landing, follow signs to immigration. Have your passport, eVisa approval, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 15–30 minutes.
