Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
You need an eVisa to enter Kyrgyzstan. Apply at the official eVisa portal at least 3 working days before departure. The eVisa costs around $50 USD and is valid for single entry up to 90 days.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Kyrgyzstan. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Kyrgyz law, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Manas International Airport regularly ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your departure from Kyrgyzstan within the eVisa validity period.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Kyrgyzstan. Officers may ask for this at the border, especially if you're staying for more than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or cash equivalent to at least $50 USD per day of your stay. Immigration rarely asks, but it's better to have proof ready if questioned.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no visa on arrival
Kyrgyzstan does not offer visa on arrival for Nepali passport holders. You must have an approved eVisa before you travel. Without it, you will be denied boarding.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa, passport, and booking confirmations as PDFs on your phone and email them to yourself. If you lose your phone, you can still access them from any device.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to https://evisa.e-gov.kg/ and fill out the application. Upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page and a passport-sized photo. Pay the fee (around $30-50 depending on processing speed). You'll receive the approved eVisa by email within 3-5 business days for standard processing.
2
Prepare your documents
Print or save on your phone: the eVisa approval email, your passport, return ticket, accommodation booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in a folder or a clear plastic sleeve for quick access at immigration.
3
Arrive at Manas International Airport (Bishkek)
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for foreign nationals. Have your passport and eVisa ready. The officer will scan your passport, check your eVisa, and may ask for your return ticket or hotel booking. Answer clearly and politely.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim. Then walk through customs (green channel if nothing to declare). You're now in Kyrgyzstan.
