Papua New Guinea entry requirements for Nepal passport holders
Nepali passport holders must get an eVisa to enter Papua New Guinea. Apply online before you travel, and show the approved eVisa at immigration in Port Moresby. This rule applies from 2026.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| eVisa application Apply before travel | Apply for a Papua New Guinea eVisa at the official Immigration and Citizenship Authority portal. Processing takes 3–5 business days, so submit at least a week before departure. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Jacksons International Airport will check it before stamping you in.Apply for eVisa | Required |
| Valid passport Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay | Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your departure date from Papua New Guinea. Airlines at Kathmandu check this strictly — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding. Carry a photocopy of the bio page as backup. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Required for entry | Immigration officers at Port Moresby ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket before they issue your entry stamp. Have a printed itinerary or e-ticket ready — a simple booking reference on your phone is not enough. If you plan to leave overland, show a bus or ferry booking. | Required |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking or host invitation | Have a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and phone number. Immigration may ask where you are staying on the arrival form — vague answers can lead to secondary screening. A booking on Booking.com or Agoda works fine. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Show you can support your stay | Carry a bank statement or credit card showing at least 500 PGK (approx. $130 USD) per day of your stay. Immigration rarely asks, but if you look underprepared they can deny entry. ATMs in Port Moresby are unreliable — bring cash in USD or AUD as backup. | Recommended |
