Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Zimbabwe
Your passport needs at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps. Immigration at Harare and Victoria Falls checks the 6-month validity strictly — airlines also enforce this before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Zimbabwe
Immigration officers at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Budget airlines like Fastjet and Air Zimbabwe check this before issuing a boarding pass.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Zimbabwe. Immigration may ask for it if you look like you're staying with friends or family.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Carry at least $500 USD in cash or have a bank statement showing you can cover your stay. ATMs in Zimbabwe dispense local currency (ZWL), but USD is widely preferred for payments.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no visa on arrival
Nepali passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Zimbabwe. You must apply and receive an approved eVisa before you travel. Boarding without one may result in being denied entry at check-in.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Zimbabwe, not from your departure date. If your passport expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to the official Zimbabwe eVisa website (evisa.gov.zw). Fill in your personal details, passport info, travel dates, and upload a passport-style photo. Pay the visa fee online with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but apply at least 2 weeks before your trip to be safe.
2
Receive and print eVisa
Once approved, you'll get an email with the eVisa document. Print a paper copy and also save a PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and upon arrival in Zimbabwe.
3
Arrival at Zimbabwe airport
At Harare (HRE) or Victoria Falls (VFA) airport, proceed to the immigration counter. Present your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. The officer will stamp your passport. The process usually takes 10–15 minutes if your documents are ready.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, collect your checked bags from the carousel. Then proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. You're now free to enter Zimbabwe.

Frequently asked questions

No. Nepali passport holders are not eligible for a visa on arrival. You must obtain an eVisa before traveling. The eVisa is processed online and approved before your flight.
Typically 3–5 business days, but it can take up to 2 weeks during peak periods. Apply at least 2 weeks before your departure to avoid last-minute stress.
The official eVisa fee varies depending on the type of visa (single entry, double entry, etc.). As of 2026, a single-entry tourist eVisa costs around USD 30–50. Check the official portal for the exact amount at the time of application.
If you are arriving from or have transited through a country with yellow fever risk, you must show a yellow fever vaccination certificate. Nepal is not a yellow fever endemic country, so if you travel directly from Nepal, you likely don't need it. But if you have a layover in a country like Kenya or Ethiopia, check the requirements.
The eVisa is not extendable. You must leave before the visa expires. If you need a longer stay, you would need to apply for a different visa type before traveling or leave and re-enter.
Rejections are rare but can happen if your documents are incomplete or your passport doesn't meet the validity requirement. You can reapply with corrected information. There is no refund of the application fee. If rejected, you cannot enter Zimbabwe.
It's not a formal requirement for the eVisa, but immigration officers may ask how you'll support yourself during your stay. Having a credit card or a bank statement showing sufficient funds (around USD 50–100 per day) is a good idea.
