Bulgaria is not yet in the Schengen area

Arrive at Bulgarian border
At Sofia Airport or any land border, join the 'Non-EU' queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready.

Present documents to border officer
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask about your trip purpose, length of stay, and accommodation. Answer clearly and briefly.

Get entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (usually 90 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter.

Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, collect your bags from the carousel and proceed through customs. No further checks unless you have goods to declare.
