New Zealand passport holders cannot enter the UK visa-free for tourism or business. You must get a Standard Visitor visa before you travel. There is no visa-on-arrival or e-visa option. Plan ahead — processing takes 3 weeks.
Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) after arrival
If your visa vignette says 'BRP Collection', you must pick up your Biometric Residence Permit within 10 days of arriving in the UK. Go to the post office listed in your decision letter. Without it, you may have trouble re-entering the UK later.

Attend a biometric appointment
After submitting, book an appointment at a Visa Application Centre in New Zealand (Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch). You'll give fingerprints and a photo. This costs about NZ$150–200 extra.

Standard processing takes 3 weeks (15 working days) from your biometric appointment. You can pay extra for priority (5 working days) or super-priority (next working day) if available.

Receive your visa vignette
If approved, a vignette sticker is placed in your passport. It's valid for 30 days to enter the UK. Once you arrive, you'll collect a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) within 10 days.
