Have a printed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Equatorial Guinea. Officers may ask for this during the entry interview, especially if you are staying more than a few days.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card
Carry at least $200 USD in cash or have a credit card statement showing available funds. Immigration may request proof you can support yourself during your stay.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must have a yellow fever vaccination certificate (WHO yellow card) to enter Equatorial Guinea. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated on arrival — at your own cost.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to the official Equatorial Guinea eVisa portal. Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $100–$150 USD depending on processing speed). Submit and wait for approval — processing can take 3–7 business days.
2
Print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF. Print at least two copies — one for your carry-on, one in your luggage. Immigration at Malabo (SSG) or Bata (BSG) airport will check it before stamping you in.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Have your passport, eVisa printout, return ticket, and accommodation booking ready before you reach the immigration desk. Keep them in a folder or your hand luggage — don't dig through your checked bag.
4
Go through immigration
At the airport, join the 'Foreigners' queue. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and how long you're staying. Answer clearly. You'll get an entry stamp — check the date is correct before walking away.
