Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Bahrain. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires before you leave, you will be denied boarding. Bahrain does not enforce a 6-month validity rule for Oman passport holders.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Bahrain
Immigration officers at Bahrain International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. This applies even for visa-free entry.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter from your host in Bahrain. Immigration may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel. A printed booking page works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the visit
Have a bank statement or cash equivalent to at least 200 BHD (~530 USD) for a short stay. Officers rarely ask, but if you cannot show funds, they may deny entry. A credit card with a sufficient limit also works.Recommended
Visa-free entry is for 14 days only
You cannot extend this stay. If you plan to stay longer, apply for a tourist visa or other appropriate visa before you travel.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. Airlines may deny boarding if your passport doesn't meet this requirement.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Bahrain International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' (not 'Transit'). Join the queue for non-GCC nationals. Have your passport and return ticket ready.
2
Present your passport
Hand over your passport to the immigration officer. They will check your passport validity and may ask about your stay purpose and accommodation. Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 14-day visa-free entry. No fee is charged. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when leaving.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There are no special declarations for most personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
