What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to the official Côte d'Ivoire e-visa portal (snedai.com). Fill in the application form, upload a passport photo and a copy of your passport data page, and pay the fee (around 50,000 XOF, roughly €75). Processing usually takes 2–5 business days. You'll receive a PDF approval — print it and keep a copy on your phone.
2
Prepare your documents for the airport
Before you leave for the airport, gather: your printed e-visa approval, passport (valid 6+ months), return/onward ticket, and first-night hotel booking. Save digital copies on your phone as backup.
3
Arrival at Félix-Houphouët-Boigny Airport (Abidjan)
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for 'Foreigners' or 'Visas'. Hand over your passport, printed e-visa, and return ticket. The officer will check your details, stamp your passport, and let you through. Keep the e-visa printout with your passport — you may need it again when leaving.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim. Then head to customs — green channel if you have nothing to declare. Exit into the arrivals hall where you can buy a local SIM or arrange transport.
