Russia entry requirements for Oman passport holders
Omani passport holders can travel to Russia with an eVisa, not a traditional visa. This electronic visa allows a single entry for up to 16 days. The eVisa system is operational in 2026 and covers most tourist, business, and cultural visits.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Visa-free entryYou do not need to apply for a visa in advance, but you must respect the 30-day limit. No visa required for stays up to 30 days | Omani citizens can enter Russia without a visa for tourism or business stays of up to 30 days. The visa-free regime applies to each entry; overstaying is not permitted and extensions are not available. | Required |
| Passport validityCheck your passport expiry date well before you travel; if it's close to expiring, renew it first. At least 6 months beyond your intended departure date | Your Omani passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Russia. Ensure your passport does not expire during your stay. | Required |
| Blank passport pagesBorder control needs a clean page to stamp; having extra blank pages is safer. At least 1 blank page for entry stamp | Your passport must have at least one blank page for the Russian border officer to affix the entry stamp. It is recommended to have more than one blank page to avoid issues. | Required |
| Return or onward ticketHaving a ticket out of Russia helps prove you intend to leave within the allowed time. Proof of departure from Russia | Although not always requested, you should carry a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket showing departure from Russia before the 30-day visa-free period ends. Border officers may ask for it. | Recommended |
| Proof of fundsIt's wise to carry some cash and a credit card to show you can support yourself. Sufficient money for your stay | While not a formal requirement for Omani citizens, you should be able to show evidence of sufficient funds (e.g., cash, credit cards, bank statements) to cover your expenses during your stay in Russia, if asked by immigration. | Recommended |
| Arrival declarationYou can skip any arrival declaration paperwork – it's not part of the entry process. Not required for visa-free entry | No arrival declaration or registration form is required for Omani citizens entering Russia under the visa-free regime. You do not need to fill out any arrival form. | Not required |
| E-visa applicationNo online visa application is needed – just show your passport at the border. Not applicable – visa-free entry | Since Omani citizens enjoy visa-free access, you do not need to apply for an e-visa through the Russian e-visa portal. This step is not required for your trip. | Not required |

Transiting through Russia
Omani citizens transiting through Russian airports do not need a visa if they remain in the international transit zone and have a confirmed onward ticket within 24 hours.
- If you need to leave the airport or stay overnight in a hotel outside the transit zone, a transit visa is required.
- If you have a connecting flight to a domestic Russian destination, you must obtain a visa.
