Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Seychelles. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires before you leave, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Seychelles
Immigration officers ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket at the border. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they check this before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have your hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
Carry evidence of enough funds for your trip — a bank statement or credit card works. Officers rarely ask, but they can request it if they suspect you're short on cash.Recommended
No visa needed, but be prepared
You don't need to apply for anything before you go, but immigration will check your return ticket and accommodation. Have them ready on your phone or printed. The process is quick — usually under 10 minutes.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Seychelles. If it's less, you'll be turned away at the airport. Check your passport now and renew if needed.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Seychelles International Airport
You'll land at Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) on Mahé. Follow signs to immigration. There are usually two queues: one for Seychellois and residents, another for visitors. Join the visitors queue.
2
Present your documents to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport, return ticket (printed or on your phone), and proof of accommodation. The officer will check your passport validity and may ask a few questions about your stay.
3
Receive your entry stamp
If everything is in order, the officer will stamp your passport with a visitor's permit valid for up to 90 days. No fee is charged. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall where taxis and car rentals are available.
