Omani passport holders can enter Ukraine without a visa for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This visa-free arrangement is valid through 2026 and covers tourism, business, and short-term visits. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of entry.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Ukraine. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Ukrainian law, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Ukraine
Border officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at passport control. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound booking ready — they check it before stamping you in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and contact number is enough. Keep a copy on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can request evidence of sufficient funds for your stay. Carry a bank statement or credit card showing at least $50 USD per day of your trip — they rarely ask, but it's better to have it.Recommended
Ukraine is currently under a state of martial law
Due to the ongoing war with Russia, Ukraine has declared martial law. This means travel restrictions, curfews, and checkpoints are in place. Check the latest travel advisories from your government before booking. Some regions near the border with Russia and Belarus are off-limits to foreigners without special permits.
Registration is automatic at hotels
If you're staying in a hotel, hostel, or serviced apartment, they will register you with the migration authorities automatically. You don't need to do anything. If staying with friends or family, your host must register you within 3 business days.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Ukrainian border control
At Kyiv Boryspil, Lviv, or any land border crossing, join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will check your documents, take a photo, and stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 2–5 minutes.
2
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry. Check the stamp is legible before you walk away. This stamp marks the start of your 90-day visa-free stay.
3
Keep documents handy during your stay
Carry your passport and a copy of your registration (if staying in a hotel, they'll register you automatically). Police can ask for ID at any time. Keep digital copies of your passport and visa-free entry stamp in your phone.

Frequently asked questions

No, the visa-free stay cannot be extended. You must leave Ukraine before the 90 days are up. If you need to stay longer, you'll need to apply for a temporary residence permit at a local migration office before your 90 days expire — but that's a separate process with its own requirements.
If you're staying in a hotel, hostel, or registered apartment, they will handle your registration automatically. If you're staying with friends or family, your host must register you at the local migration office within 3 business days. You don't need to do anything yourself if your accommodation handles it.
Overstaying can result in a fine (around 1,700–3,400 UAH, roughly $45–$90), possible deportation, and a ban from re-entering Ukraine for up to 3 years. The fine is paid at a bank, and you'll get a receipt to show at the border. Avoid overstaying — it's not worth the hassle.
Yes, Omani passport holders can enter Ukraine by land from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, or Moldova. The same visa-free rules apply. Border crossings can have long queues, especially on weekends and holidays. Bring snacks and water.
No, transit is covered under the same visa-free arrangement. You can stay up to 90 days, so a short transit is fine. Just have your onward ticket ready.
It's not officially required at the border, but it's strongly recommended. Medical costs in Ukraine can be high, and travel insurance covers emergency evacuation, hospital stays, and repatriation. Some airlines may ask for proof of insurance before boarding.
Report the loss immediately to the local police and get a police report. Then contact the Omani embassy in Kyiv (or the nearest Omani consulate) to apply for an emergency travel document. You'll need the police report, a passport photo, and proof of identity. The embassy can issue a temporary passport to get you home.
