Apply early — processing can be slow
The eVisa system sometimes takes longer than advertised. Don't wait until the last week before your flight. Apply at least 2 weeks in advance to avoid stress.
Keep a digital copy of your eVisa
Save the PDF of your eVisa approval letter on your phone and email it to yourself. Airlines and immigration officers are increasingly happy to accept digital copies, but a printed backup is still safest.

Apply for the eVisa online
Go to visas.immigration.go.ug, create an account, fill in the application, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page, and pay the fee (around $50 for a single-entry tourist visa). Processing takes 2–5 business days, sometimes longer. You'll receive an approval letter by email — print it or save a PDF on your phone.

Check in for your flight
At the airline check-in counter, show your passport and the eVisa approval letter. The agent will verify the visa is linked to your passport number. If you don't have a printed copy, the airline may accept a digital version on your phone.

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport (or land border)
At immigration, present your passport, the eVisa approval letter, and your return/onward ticket. The officer will take your fingerprints and a photo, then stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 10–15 minutes if you have everything ready.

Collect your luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel and proceed through customs. If you have nothing to declare, walk straight through the green channel.
