Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the entire period you plan to stay in Belarus. Immigration at Minsk National Airport checks this at the booth — if your passport expires before you leave, you'll be denied entry.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Belarus
Border officers at Minsk Airport routinely ask for a printed or digital onward ticket showing you leave within 30 days. Airlines also check this before boarding — without it, you won't get a boarding pass.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Immigration may ask where you're staying — have a hotel confirmation or a host's invitation letter ready. If you're staying with friends, a simple letter with their address and contact number works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can request proof you have enough money for your stay — roughly €50 per day. A bank statement or credit card with available limit is fine.Recommended
Passport validity is strict
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Belarus. If it expires sooner, you'll be denied entry — no exceptions. Check your passport now, not the night before your flight.
Keep a copy of your documents
Save digital copies of your passport, return ticket, and accommodation booking on your phone and email. If you lose your passport, having copies makes replacement at the embassy much faster.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date), book a return/onward ticket, and confirm your first night's accommodation. Save screenshots of everything on your phone.
2
Arrive at Minsk National Airport (MSQ)
Most flights from Peru connect through Europe (e.g., Warsaw, Istanbul). At MSQ, follow signs to 'Passport Control' — there are separate queues for Belarusian citizens and foreigners. Join the foreigners queue.
3
Present your passport and documents
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation proof. Have them ready on your phone or printed. They'll stamp your passport with a 30-day entry stamp.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's a green channel for standard goods and a red channel for items to declare. Walk through green unless you have something to declare.
