Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Fiji enforces the 6-month passport validity rule strictly. Airlines check this at check-in and will deny boarding if your passport expires sooner. Carry a photocopy of the bio page in case you need it for hotel check-in or emergency consular assistance.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Fiji
Immigration officers at Nadi Airport ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket before they stamp you in. A flight booking to any destination outside Fiji works — it doesn't have to be back to Peru. Budget airlines like Fiji Link may also check this at check-in.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration rarely asks for this, but if you arrive without a clear place to stay, they may question you at the counter. Have a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and phone number ready.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Fiji does not publish a minimum amount, but officers may ask how you plan to pay for your trip. Carry a credit card and some cash (FJD 500–1,000 is a safe buffer) to demonstrate you're not arriving broke.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Fiji requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, you won't be allowed to fly.
No visa needed, but have documents ready
While there's no visa application, immigration officers can still ask for proof of return ticket, accommodation, and funds. Keep these handy in your carry-on.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Nadi International Airport
Most international flights land at Nadi (NAN). Follow signs to Immigration. There are usually two queues: one for Fijian citizens and one for foreigners. Join the foreigner queue.
2
Present your documents to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport, completed arrival card (given on the plane), and return ticket if asked. The officer will check your passport validity and stamp you in. This usually takes 2-5 minutes.
3
Collect your luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, head to baggage claim. Then go through customs. Declare any food, plants, or animal products. Fiji is strict about biosecurity.
4
Exit the airport
Once through customs, you're free to leave. Taxis and hotel shuttles are available outside the arrivals hall.

Frequently asked questions

You can stay up to 120 days without a visa. This is a generous allowance compared to many other countries. If you want to stay longer, you'd need to apply for an extension or a different visa type.
Extensions are not automatically granted. You'd need to apply at the Department of Immigration in Suva. There's no standard extension period or cost listed, so it's best to plan your trip within the 120-day limit.
Yes, you need proof that you're leaving Fiji — either a return flight to Peru or an onward ticket to another country. A bus or ferry ticket won't work unless it's to a neighboring island nation with a flight connection.
You'll likely be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry by Fijian immigration. Renew your passport before traveling. There are no exceptions for short trips.
No, there is no online arrival declaration. You'll fill out a paper arrival card on the plane. It asks for basic info like your flight number, accommodation, and whether you're carrying restricted items.
No. The visa-free entry is for tourism, business meetings, and short visits only. If you plan to work, study, or volunteer, you need to apply for the appropriate visa or permit before you travel.
Overstaying is a violation of immigration law. You may be fined, detained, or banned from re-entering Fiji. If you realize you'll overstay, contact the Department of Immigration in Suva before your visa expires.
