Filipino passport holders need a visa to enter Azerbaijan in 2026. The easiest way is to apply for an e-visa online before you travel — it's straightforward and usually takes a few business days. Plan ahead to avoid last-minute stress.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Philippine passport holders need an eVisa to enter Azerbaijan. Apply at evisa.gov.az — the official government portal. Processing takes up to 3 working days, and the visa is valid for 30 days single entry.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the full duration of your stay in Azerbaijan. No 6-month validity rule applies for entry, but airlines may still enforce it — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Heydar Aliyev International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your departure from Azerbaijan within the eVisa validity period.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a confirmed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Azerbaijan. Border officers may ask for it during entry questioning.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card balance
Have bank statements, a credit card, or cash equivalent to at least $50 USD per day of your stay. Officers rarely check this, but it helps if asked.Recommended
Apply early — don't risk it
The e-visa system is reliable, but processing times can stretch during holidays or if there's a glitch. Apply at least 10 days before your flight to avoid last-minute panic.
Keep your visa email
Save the PDF on your phone and email it to yourself. If you lose the printed copy, you can still show it from your phone at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-visa online
Go to evisa.gov.az, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the fee. Processing takes 3–5 business days for the standard option. You'll receive the visa by email as a PDF.
2
Prepare your documents
Print the e-visa, pack your passport, and save digital copies of your return ticket and hotel booking on your phone. Have them ready before you reach the immigration counter.
3
Arrive at the airport in Azerbaijan
At Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' after disembarking. Join the queue, present your passport and e-visa, and answer any questions about your stay. The officer will stamp you in.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's nothing special to declare for most tourists. Exit into the arrivals hall.

Frequently asked questions

The standard e-visa takes 3–5 business days. There's also an urgent option (3 hours) for a higher fee. Apply at least a week before your flight to be safe.
No. Filipino passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival. You must have an approved e-visa before you travel.
The standard e-visa fee is around $20–$25 USD, plus a service fee. The urgent option costs more. Check evisa.gov.az for current prices.
You'll be denied boarding. Renew your passport first, then apply for the e-visa with the new passport number.
It's safer to have a booking for at least the first night. If asked, explain you're staying with friends and provide their address. Some travellers have been turned away without a confirmed address.
The e-visa is usually valid for 30 days and is not extendable. If you need to stay longer, you'd have to leave and re-enter with a new visa.
You can show the digital copy on your phone, but having a printed copy is safer — phone batteries die, and not all officers accept digital versions.
