Philippine passport holders can enter Hong Kong without a visa for stays up to 14 days. This covers tourism, business visits, and short-term family visits. Your passport must meet validity rules before travel.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire 14-day stay. Hong Kong does not require 6 months of validity beyond departure, but your airline might enforce it — check with them before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Hong Kong
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Have access to enough cash or a credit card to cover your expenses. Immigration may ask for proof if you look underfunded — a bank statement or card limit screenshot works.Recommended
14-day limit is strict — no extensions
The visa-free stay is fixed at 14 days and cannot be extended for any reason. Overstaying even by one day can result in a fine up to HKD 50,000, detention, and a ban from re-entering Hong Kong. Plan your departure carefully.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Hong Kong, not from the day you leave. If it expires sooner, you will be denied entry.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before leaving, gather your passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket, hotel booking confirmation, and travel insurance details. Save digital copies on your phone and keep a printed backup.
2
Arrive at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)
Follow signs to 'Arrivals' then 'Immigration'. There are separate queues for residents and visitors. Join the 'Visitors' queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready.
3
Present your passport to the immigration officer
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask about your visit purpose, length of stay, and accommodation. Answer clearly and briefly. They will stamp your passport with an entry permit valid for up to 14 days.
4
Collect your luggage and proceed to customs
After immigration, collect checked luggage from the carousel. Walk through the 'Green Channel' if you have nothing to declare, or the 'Red Channel' if you have dutiable goods. No arrival declaration form is needed.
5
Exit the airport
Once through customs, you're free to exit the arrival hall. Follow signs to taxis, the Airport Express train, or buses to get to your accommodation.
