Pakistani passport holders need a visa to enter Bangladesh in 2026. You must apply online before you travel — there’s no visa on arrival for Pakistani nationals. Plan ahead because processing takes 3–5 working days.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
You need a visa to enter Bangladesh. Apply through the official Bangladesh eVisa portal at least 3-4 working days before your trip. Upload a scanned passport photo and your passport data page — the fee varies by nationality and visa type.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry into Bangladesh. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Bangladesh
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a digital version on your phone ready. Without one, you may be refused entry.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host in Bangladesh. Immigration may ask where you are staying — having a booking ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements, a credit card, or cash (USD or Taka) available to show you have enough money for your stay. Immigration rarely asks, but it is better to be prepared.Recommended
No visa on arrival for Pakistani passports
Unlike some other nationalities, Pakistani passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Bangladesh. You must apply for an e-Visa before you travel. Arriving without one means you’ll be denied entry and sent back on the next flight.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save PDFs of your e-Visa, passport, and tickets in a cloud folder (Google Drive, iCloud) and on your phone. If you lose the printed copies, you can still show them at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-Visa online
Go to the Bangladesh e-Visa website (evisa.gov.bd). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50–$70 depending on duration). Wait 3–5 working days for approval. You’ll receive a PDF visa — print it and keep a copy on your phone.
2
Prepare your documents for the airport
Before you leave for the airport, gather: your printed e-Visa, passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket confirmation, hotel booking, and travel insurance certificate. Put them in a folder you can grab quickly.
3
Arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) in Dhaka
After landing, follow signs to ‘Foreign Passports’ immigration. Join the queue for pre-arranged visas. Hand over your passport, printed e-Visa, and return ticket. The officer may ask your hotel address and purpose of visit. Answer clearly. They’ll stamp you in — usually for up to 30 days.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. Proceed through customs (green channel if nothing to declare). You’re in. Exchange some currency at the airport counters — rates are fair.
