Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before departure
Apply for a DR Congo eVisa at visa.gouv.cd at least 2 weeks before travel. The online form asks for a passport scan, a passport photo, and your travel itinerary. Processing takes 3–7 business days — do not book non-refundable flights until you have the approval email.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your Pakistani passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of entry into DR Congo. Airlines at departure check this strictly — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Show proof of departure
Immigration officers at N'djili Airport ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. A printed booking confirmation or an e-ticket on your phone works. Without one, you risk being refused entry and sent back on the next flight.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in DR Congo ready. Officers occasionally ask for it at the border, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry at least $500 USD in cash or a bank statement showing sufficient funds. DR Congo is a cash-heavy country — credit cards are rarely accepted outside major hotels in Kinshasa.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine required
DR Congo requires proof of yellow fever vaccination for all travellers. Get the vaccine at least 10 days before travel and carry your yellow card — immigration may ask to see it.
eVisa is mandatory
There is no visa-on-arrival for Pakistani passport holders. Apply for your eVisa at visa.gouv.cd at least a week before your flight.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to visa.gouv.cd, fill out the application form, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days. You'll receive the approval by email.
2
Print or save eVisa approval
Once approved, print a copy and also save the PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and upon arrival in Kinshasa or Lubumbashi.
3
Prepare documents for immigration
At the airport in DR Congo, join the queue for foreign passports. Hand over your passport, eVisa approval, return ticket (screenshot or print), and accommodation booking. The officer may ask a few questions — answer calmly.
4
Collect your passport and proceed
After the officer stamps your passport, you're free to collect your luggage and exit. Keep your passport handy — there may be a secondary check at the exit.
