Pakistani passport holders need a visa to enter Egypt in 2026. The easiest way is to apply for an e-visa online before you travel. Processing takes a few business days, so plan ahead.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for an Egyptian tourist eVisa at visa2egypt.gov.eg before departure. The single-entry eVisa costs $25 USD and is valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Processing takes 3–5 business days — apply at least a week before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for 6+ months
Your Pakistani passport must have at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of arrival in Egypt. Airlines at departure check this strictly — you will be denied boarding if your passport expires sooner.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Cairo International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave Egypt within your eVisa's validity. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they may check it before stamping your passport.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host in Egypt. Immigration may ask for it at the border, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or card
Have at least $1,000 USD or equivalent in Egyptian pounds available — either in cash, a credit card, or a bank statement. Border officers occasionally ask to see proof you can cover your stay.Recommended
Apply early — don't risk it
E-visa processing can take up to 7 business days. If you apply too close to your departure and it's delayed, you won't be able to board. Give yourself at least two weeks.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save PDFs of your e-visa, flight itinerary, hotel booking, and insurance on your phone. Also email them to yourself. If your phone dies or gets lost, you can access them from any device.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-visa online
Go to www.visa2egypt.gov.eg, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay with a credit card. Wait 3–7 business days for approval. You'll receive a PDF by email.
2
Pack your documents
Print or save on your phone: the e-visa approval, your flight itinerary, hotel booking confirmation, and travel insurance certificate. Keep them together in a folder.
3
Arrive at Egyptian immigration
At Cairo International Airport or any other entry point, join the queue for foreign passports. Hand over your passport and e-visa printout (or show the PDF on your phone). The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel booking. Answer clearly. You'll get a stamp and can proceed.
