Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Nigeria eVisa
Apply for a Nigeria eVisa at the Nigeria Immigration Service portal before travel. The application requires a passport scan, digital photo, and payment of the visa fee. Processing takes 3–5 business days — do not book flights until approved.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Passport validity
Your Pakistani passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Nigeria. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Immigration officers at Lagos and Abuja routinely ask for a return or onward flight ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — if you cannot show one, you may be refused entry and placed on the next flight out.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host letter
Carry a confirmed hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Nigeria. Immigration may ask where you are staying — having a printed booking avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient funds for stay
Be ready to show cash, bank statements, or a credit card showing you can cover your expenses. Officers rarely ask, but if they do, having at least $500 USD equivalent in accessible funds avoids problems.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show proof of yellow fever vaccination (the yellow card) upon arrival. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport at your own expense. Get the shot at least 10 days before you travel.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save PDFs of your eVisa approval, flight bookings, and hotel confirmations on your phone and in cloud storage. If your phone dies or gets lost, you can still access them from another device.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the Nigeria Immigration Service portal (portal.immigration.gov.ng). Create an account, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll get an email with a PDF approval letter. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. The visa is linked to your passport electronically, but having a printed copy avoids issues at check-in.
3
Arrive at a Nigerian airport
At Lagos (LOS) or Abuja (ABV) airports, proceed to the immigration desk. Present your passport and the eVisa approval letter. The officer will verify your details and stamp you in. Have your return ticket and accommodation confirmation ready in case they ask.
