What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-visa online
Go to the official Chad e-visa website (e-visa.td). Fill in your personal and travel details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the visa fee (around $100–$150 depending on processing speed). Submit and wait for approval, which usually takes 3–7 business days.
2
Print or download your visa approval
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF or email confirmation. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show this at the airline check-in counter and at immigration in N'Djamena.
3
Prepare your documents for departure
Before heading to the airport, gather: your passport (valid 6+ months), printed e-visa, return/onward ticket, and first night hotel booking. Keep them in a folder you can access quickly.
4
Arrive at N'Djamena International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Visa on Arrival' (even though you have a visa). Present your passport, e-visa approval, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. The process usually takes 10–15 minutes if your documents are in order.
