Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
Apply for a visa before travel
Pakistan passport holders must obtain a visa before arriving in Ukraine. Apply at the nearest Ukrainian embassy or consulate — processing takes 5–10 working days. The official visa information page is at mfa.gov.ua/en/consular-issues/visa-to-ukraine.Check visa requirementsRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Ukraine. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Ukrainian law, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of onward travel
Border officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at passport control. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight itinerary ready. This applies even if you hold a valid visa.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation, rental agreement, or a notarized invitation from a Ukrainian host. Officers may ask for this during the visa interview or at the border. A printed booking confirmation works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient money for your stay
Have bank statements, a credit card, or cash equivalent to at least $50 USD per day of your stay. Officers rarely ask, but having proof avoids delays. ATMs are widely available in cities.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no exceptions
Pakistan passport holders cannot enter Ukraine without a pre-approved eVisa. There is no visa waiver, visa on arrival, or any other alternative. Apply well in advance.
Register your stay within 3 days
If you're staying in a private apartment (not a hotel), you must register with the local migration office within 3 working days. Your host should handle this — ask them to confirm it's done. Hotels register you automatically.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.gov.ua and fill out the application. You'll need a digital passport photo, a scan of your passport bio page, and details of your travel plans. Pay the fee online with a credit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but can be longer during peak periods.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
You'll get a PDF by email. Print it in colour — border control will scan the barcode. Also save a copy on your phone as backup.
3
Prepare your documents for the border
At the airport in Ukraine (most likely Boryspil in Kyiv or Lviv), join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport, printed eVisa, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will scan your eVisa, stamp your passport, and ask a few questions (purpose of visit, where you're staying). Answer honestly and calmly.
4
Register your stay (if staying more than 3 days)
If you're staying in a hotel, they'll register you automatically. If you're in a private apartment, you need to register with the local migration office within 3 working days. Your host should help — ask them upfront.
