Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Cameroon eVisa at the official portal before departure. Processing takes 3–5 business days, and you need a digital passport photo and proof of accommodation. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Polish passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Cameroon. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration officers enforce it strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of exit
Immigration may ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket before granting entry. Have a printed or digital copy ready — airlines also check this at departure.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from your host in Cameroon. Immigration officers occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient means
Have bank statements or a credit card ready to show you can cover your stay. Officers rarely ask, but it helps if you're staying longer than a few weeks.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine is mandatory
You must show your yellow fever vaccination certificate (yellow card) at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated on the spot at your own expense. Get the shot at least 10 days before travel.
Cash is essential
Cameroon is largely a cash economy. ATMs exist but often run out of money or charge high fees. Bring enough euros or US dollars to exchange for your stay. Credit cards are rarely accepted outside major hotels.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Cameroon eVisa website (evisacameroon.com) and fill out the application. Upload a digital passport photo and a copy of your passport data page. Pay the fee online with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but can be faster.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF by email. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and at immigration.
3
Prepare your documents for travel
Pack your passport, eVisa, return ticket, hotel booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in your carry-on, not checked luggage.
4
Arrive at the airport in Cameroon
At Yaoundé Nsimalen International Airport or Douala International Airport, head to the immigration queue. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask to see your return ticket and hotel booking. Answer any questions clearly. You'll get an entry stamp valid for up to 90 days.
