Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your stay in Cyprus
Your Polish passport needs to be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Cyprus. Cyprus does not enforce a strict 6-month validity rule for EU nationals, but airlines may still check that your passport covers your travel dates.Required
Return or onward ticket
Immigration may ask for proof of departure
Carry a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket. Cyprus immigration officers occasionally ask for proof that you plan to leave within the 90-day Schengen limit.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have your hotel reservation, Airbnb confirmation, or a letter from your host ready. Border officers rarely ask for it, but having it avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing you have enough money for your stay. Cyprus does not publish a specific minimum amount, but around €50–€100 per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Cyprus is now part of the Schengen Area
Since 2024, Cyprus is a full Schengen member. This means your 90-day visa-free stay counts toward your Schengen 90/180-day limit. If you've already spent time in other Schengen countries, check your remaining days before traveling.
Passport validity is critical
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. If it expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding by the airline or refused entry at the border. Renew your passport well in advance.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date). Book your return/onward ticket and first night accommodation. Save screenshots of both on your phone. Arrange travel insurance and an eSIM if you want.
2
Arrive at Larnaca or Paphos airport
You'll land at Larnaca International Airport (LCA) or Paphos International Airport (PFO). Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'EU/EEA/Swiss' passport control — Polish passport holders use the EU lane.
3
Present your passport at immigration
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask about the purpose of your visit, how long you're staying, and where you're staying. Answer briefly and honestly. They may also ask to see your return ticket or accommodation confirmation — have them ready on your phone.
4
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date. This stamp determines your 90-day allowance. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when you leave.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs (green channel for most tourists). You're free to go.
