Immigration officers at Damascus Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or digital booking confirmation ready. Without one, you risk being denied boarding or entry.Required

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to the official Syrian eVisa website and fill out the application. You'll need your passport details, travel dates, and accommodation info. Upload a passport-style photo and pay the fee. Processing takes 5–14 days.
2
Print your eVisa approval
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF. Print it out — you'll need to show it at immigration in Damascus or other entry points. Keep a digital copy on your phone as backup.
3
Arrive at Syrian immigration
At Damascus International Airport or a land border, go to the immigration counter. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. They may ask for your accommodation address. The process usually takes 10–20 minutes.
4
Collect your passport and enter
After they stamp your passport, you're free to enter. Keep the eVisa printout with your passport for the duration of your stay.
