Qatari passport holders can enter the United Arab Emirates without a visa for stays of up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This visa-free arrangement has been in place since 2023 and applies to tourism, business, and short-term visits.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in the UAE. Airlines at Doha check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Recommended for visa-free entry
Immigration officers at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports occasionally ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Officers may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their Emirates ID number works. Keep a copy on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Carry a bank statement or credit card showing you can cover your stay. No fixed amount is published, but having at least 3,000 AED equivalent helps if asked.Recommended
Overstay fines are steep
If you stay beyond 90 days, you'll be fined 50 AED per day. This adds up fast. Set a calendar reminder to leave before your 90 days are up.
eSIM saves time at the airport
Instead of queuing for a local SIM at the airport, install an eSIM like Airalo before you fly. It activates as soon as you land, so you have data immediately for maps, ride-hailing, and WhatsApp.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at UAE Immigration
At any UAE airport (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah), proceed to the 'All Passports' or 'GCC Nationals' queue. Qatari passport holders do not need to fill out a landing card.
2
Present Your Passport
Hand over your passport to the immigration officer. They will scan it and may ask for your return ticket and accommodation details. Answer clearly and politely.
3
Receive Entry Stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 90-day visitor visa. Check the stamp says '90 days' before walking away. If it shows a shorter period, ask for clarification.
4
Collect Luggage and Exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There are no customs declarations for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
