Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Armenia
Your passport needs to be valid for the full duration of your stay. Armenia does not enforce a 6-month validity rule beyond your departure date, but some airlines may still ask for it at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Armenia
Immigration officers at Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight itinerary ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address is enough.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the visit
You may be asked to show you have enough money for your stay. Have a bank statement or credit card ready — around $50 per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Visa-free for 180 days
Qatari passport holders can stay in Armenia for up to 180 days per year without a visa. That's one of the most generous visa-free allowances in the region.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Armenia. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you may be denied boarding.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before you fly
Check your passport validity — at least 6 months from your entry date. Book your return/onward ticket and first night accommodation. Save digital copies on your phone and print backups if possible.
2
Arrive at Zvartnots International Airport (EVN) or a land border
Most travellers fly into Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport. Land borders with Georgia and Iran also accept visa-free entry for Qataris. At the airport, follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Passport Control'.
3
Go through passport control
Hand over your passport to the immigration officer. They may ask for your return ticket or accommodation details. Answer clearly. The officer will stamp your passport — that's your entry permit. The process usually takes 1-2 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's no arrival declaration form to fill out for Qataris. You're free to enter Armenia.
