Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Belarus. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Belarusian law, but airlines may enforce 6 months validity — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Belarus
Immigration officers at Minsk National Airport routinely ask for a confirmed return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready — they may deny boarding if you cannot show one.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Border officers may request proof of where you are staying. A hotel confirmation or a notarized invitation from a Belarusian host works. Keep a copy on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient money for your stay
You may be asked to show you have enough cash or bank balance for your trip. Around €50 per day is a safe benchmark. ATM access is limited outside Minsk, so carry some euros or US dollars in cash.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Belarus requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you won't be allowed to fly.
No visa needed — but have your documents ready
Visa-free entry is straightforward, but immigration may ask for proof of onward travel and accommodation. Keep digital copies on your phone.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Minsk National Airport (MSQ)
Most Qatari travellers fly into MSQ. After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' (Паспортный контроль). There are separate queues for Belarusian citizens and foreigners — use the 'Foreigners' line.
2
Present your passport and documents
Hand over your passport (valid 6+ months) and any supporting documents if asked. The officer will check your passport, stamp it, and return it. This usually takes 1–2 minutes.
3
Collect baggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. You're now free to enter Belarus.
